AIGA Mn DESIGN CAMP® - CHAIR OF THE COMMITTEE

BRAINERD, MINNESOTA - Madden's RESORT

As one of the longest-standing and most beloved conferences of the national design community, Design Camp is a retreat meant to inspire, educate, and align both up-and-coming designers as well as veterans of the industry. As Chair of the 2017 Design Camp, I procured six renowned keynote speakers, worked closely with Ten Thousand Design on creative strategy, planned 32 total workshops, directly coordinated four days of events with the host venue, and led a team of volunteer committee members.

LEND & GATHER

AUSTIN, TEXAS - SOUTH CONGRESS HOTEL

At the first conference for the burgeoning, boutique event rental industry, I spoke to an outstanding batch of attendees of my experience in organizing event logistics across the country. The title of my presentation was Lift With Your Legs: Dealing with the heaviest parts of the industry, and it focused on employment practices and recruiting, as well as little-known tricks for pulling off successfully sweaty weekends. I had the honor of moderating a panel of three well-revered professionals on the topic of how their most difficult personal experiences benefitted their businesses, and with the audience's participation, I tried to figure out why.

ENGAGE!14

beaver creek, colorado - THE ritz-carlton

Arguably the most well-known and elite conference in the event industry, the Engage! series is a biannual meeting showcasing the most successful and innovative international wedding professionals. Noted in the opening keynote by celebrity producer Simon Bailey as the most anticipated speaker, I was chosen by the organizers as an industry disruptor and presented White Space: Creating your own category in events.

WEDDING OLYMPICS SF

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - THE WINERY SF ON treasure island

As master of ceremonies, I led this first-of-its-kind wedding industry Bay Area brawl. With over 400 attendees, the Wedding Olympics was an irreverent and well-needed break from the status quo of networking events and styled show-offs.

WEDPREP BY BASH, PLEASE

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

WedPrep is a two-day intensive class, organized by Paige Appel and Kelly Harris of Bash, Please, laying out all the fun (and not so fun) things about wedding planning. It is designed to help the bride or enthusiast learn from some of the top professionals in the industry. I was asked to speak about my experience in running high-end venues, and how vendors can create lasting relationships with the owners and managers of these venues.
